The warm sun warmed the vast, green savanna where baby elephant Ellie played near her loving family.
Ellie loved to stomp her little feet and swish her tiny trunk through the tall grasses.
She chased a vibrant butterfly, her floppy ears flapping with pure delight and joy.
Mama Ela: “My joyful little one, full of happy energy!”
Ellie trumpeted happily, a small, sweet sound that echoed softly across the clearing.
Life in the sunny clearing was always wonderfully peaceful and calm for everyone.
Suddenly, a tiny "Hic!" popped right out of Ellie's throat, making her jump a little.
Ellie: “Hic! What was that funny, bouncy noise?”
Another "Hic!" shook her whole small body, making her legs wobble.
Mama Ela: “Oh dear, little hiccups have arrived again, sweetie.”
Ellie tried to drink cool water from a nearby puddle, but "Hic!" kept coming out.
Ellie: “Hic! They won't stop bouncing up and down!”
Mama Ela gently rocked Ellie from side to side, trying to comfort her.
Mama Ela: “Let's try to hold your breath very still, my love.”
Ellie took a big breath, puffed out her cheeks, and held it, then "Hic!"
Ellie: “Hic! It didn't work at all, Mama!”
They walked slowly towards the ancient, giant baobab tree where wise Olly the Owl lived in comfort.
Olly was well-known for his wise advice and always calm, thoughtful demeanor.
Mama Ela: “Olly, dear friend, can you please help Ellie with her hiccups?”
Olly the Owl: “Hoo? Hiccups, you say? Hmm, try a very soft, soothing song.”
Mama Ela began to hum a low, incredibly soothing melody, her trunk swaying gently.
Ellie: “Hic! Still here, Mama, hic! They are still here.”
Olly ruffled his brown feathers, thinking deep, quiet thoughts about a solution.
Olly the Owl: “Perhaps a very sudden, tiny, playful scare?”
Mama Ela made a tiny, surprising "Boo!" sound with a playful smile.
Ellie jumped a little, then let out a delighted, rumbling trumpet of laughter.
The sudden, happy laugh made her tiny body jiggle, and the persistent hiccups simply disappeared.
Ellie: “My hiccups are all gone now, completely!”
She felt wonderfully light and free, completely ready for a peaceful slumber.
The savanna glowed with twilight's softest, most gentle colors, painting orange and purple stripes.
Ellie snuggled close to Mama Ela, feeling perfectly cozy and drifting into sweet, happy dreams.
