Milo the kitten wants to paint with moonlight but can't catch it! With help from Professor Hoot, he learns to let the moon inspire his funny art.
Milo's cozy living room was bathed in soft, shimmery moonlight.
Little Milo the curious kitten stared intently at the big, bright moon outside his window.
He loved its magical, silvery glow that painted everything in his room.
Milo: “Oh, pretty moon!”
Milo imagined dipping his brush right into that shimmering light.
Milo: “I need moon-paint for my art!”
Outside, the garden sparkled wonderfully under the full, round moon.
Milo tried to scoop up the elusive moonlight with his tiny, fluffy paw.
Milo: “Slippery, slippery light!”
He bravely fetched a miniature fishing net from his basket of toys.
Milo: “Aha! Now I'll catch it!”
But the mischievous moonlight just twinkled and flowed right through the net.
Milo then opened a big, empty cookie jar, hoping to trap some moonbeams.
Milo: “Come on, moon, jump in!”
The moonlight danced playfully, making silly shadows on the dewy grass.
Milo spun around and around, chasing the playful light with much enthusiasm.
Milo: “You are much too fast!”
He tumbled gently into a soft, cushiony patch of cool, green moss.
Professor Hoot: “Whoo-hoo, a small, furry puddle?”
Milo: “Oh, Professor Hoot, hello!”
Milo: “How do I catch my own moon paint?”
Professor Hoot: “Silly kitten, you don't catch moon.”
Professor Hoot blinked his big, wise, yellow eyes very slowly.
Professor Hoot: “You just feel its lovely magic.”
Milo looked at his very empty jar and then at the glowing moon.
Milo: “But what about my special painting?”
Professor Hoot: “Paint what the moon shows you!”
Milo happily grabbed his colorful paints and his trusty easel.
Milo: “Funny moon faces and silly stars!”
Milo painted cheerful, glowing pictures and felt very happy inside.
He yawned a big, sleepy yawn and snuggled deep into his warm bed.
