A cozy garden bloomed softly after a gentle, cooling rain shower.

Little Pip, a fluffy white puppy, wiggled his happy, curious tail.

Pip: “Sniff, sniff! New smells!”

Pip: “Explore, explore! So fun!”

He padded softly across the wet, green grass, his paws making tiny prints.

Pip: “What is this, look!”

Pip stopped short beside a small, round puddle, glittering on the path.

Pip: “Oh, shiny, magic water!”

Bright, swirling colors shimmered inside it, like a tiny, secret rainbow.

Pip: “Rainbow puddle! Wow, wow!”

Pip: “I want to touch it!”

He dipped his tiny paw gently, but the colors swirled softly away from his touch.

Pip: “Where did colors go?”

Pip tilted his head to the side, looking very puzzled indeed.

Pip: “Come back, please!”

He tried again, very, very gently, reaching out with just one claw.

Pip: “Still hiding from me!”

Pip: “Catch the rainbow!”

Pip tried to scoop the shimmering water with both of his soft paws.

Pip: “They tickle my nose!”

Pip: “Can't hold them, woof!”

Pip: “So hard to catch!”

Pip sat down with a little plop, a tiny sigh escaping his soft muzzle.

Pip: “Why won't you stay?”

Pip: “Still so pretty to see!”

Pip watched the pretty, dancing colors closely in the puddle.

Pip: “I see them now.”

Pip: “Don't need to catch.”

Pip: “Just watch them twinkle!”

The sun began to set, painting the garden sky soft pink, orange, and purple.

Pip snuggled into his soft, warm bed, dreaming of rainbow puddles and gentle colors.
