Ripple lived near a calm, wide pond.

Ripple loved to look up at the sky.

Ripple: “Look at the sky!”

Mama Duck watched Ripple swim by.

Mama Duck: “Sky is so big.”

Ripple saw many soft, fluffy clouds.

One cloud looked extra kind and gentle.

Ripple: “Hello, little cloud.”

The cloud drifted slowly, far away.

Ripple wanted to play with it.

Ripple: “Cloud, come closer!”

But the cloud stayed high, high up.

Ripple waddled to the pond's biggest rock.

Higher, higher! Ripple thought to herself.

Ripple flapped tiny, determined wings.

Ripple: “Oh, I can't reach!”

The cloud, Floof, moved a tiny bit down.

Ripple: “It heard me!”

Ripple found a tall, graceful willow tree.

Ripple climbed onto a low, strong branch.

Ripple: “Almost there, Floof!”

Floof, the cloud, floated even lower still.

Floof: “Hello, dear Ripple.”

Ripple felt a warm, happy flutter.

Ripple: “You came down!”

Floof gently swirled close to Ripple.

Floof: “I heard your sweet wish.”

They played a quiet, dreamy game.

Ripple: “Best cloud friend.”

The soft sun began to set slowly.

Ripple snuggled into Mama Duck's warm feathers and dreamed of playing in the moonlit sky with Floof.
