The Golden Circuit of Devotion

भक्ति का स्वर्णिम परिपथ

Lord Shiva challenges his sons, Kartikeya and Ganesha, to a celestial race around the world, leading Ganesha to demonstrate the profound wisdom of true devotion.

The celestial gardens of Mount Kailash shimmered under the gentle gaze of the cosmos, bathed in soft, ethereal light.

There, amidst fragrant Mandara blossoms and crystal streams, resided the divine family: Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, and their beloved sons, Kartikeya and Ganesha.

Devi: “My beloved Mahadev, the air is particularly vibrant today, filled with a playful energy.”

Mahadev: “Indeed, Devi. Our sons are growing, their spirits bright and eager for adventure.”

Kumara: “Father, Mother, your presence alone is the greatest joy. What new wonders shall we explore today?”

Vinayaka: “Yes, Kumara speaks truly. Every moment with you is a blessing, a lesson in itself.”

Vinayaka gently stroked his mouse, Mooshika, who squeaked contentedly.

Mahadev: “My dear sons, I have pondered a challenge, one that will test not merely speed, but true understanding.”

Devi: “Oh, a challenge! What intriguing idea sparks in your divine mind, Mahadev?”

Mahadev: “I propose a race: circumnavigate the entire world, not once, but three times.”

Kumara: “Around the world, three times? What a magnificent task! My peacock, Mayura, is swift as thought!”

Kumara's eyes gleamed with youthful exuberance and confidence.

Mahadev: “The one who returns first, having completed the three circuits, shall receive a special celestial fruit, the Jnana Phala, the fruit of profound wisdom.”

Devi: “A beautiful reward for a noble effort. May the race begin when you are ready, my sons.”

Vinayaka: “The Jnana Phala… a truly precious gift. But my swiftness is not that of Kumara's.”

Vinayaka looked down at his humble companion, Mooshika, with a thoughtful frown.

Kumara: “Brother, do not fret! This is a race for speed, and I shall fly across the heavens, swift as the wind!”

Vinayaka: “Indeed, Kumara. Your agility is unmatched among the Devas. My own path must be different, I sense.”

Kumara, with a final enthusiastic nod to his parents, leapt onto Mayura's back.

With a magnificent cry, Mayura unfurled his iridescent tail and ascended into the starry expanse, disappearing swiftly into the cosmic tapestry.

Vinayaka: “To circumnavigate the world three times… How shall I, with my sturdy form and Mooshika, ever hope to contend?”

Vinayaka gently scratched Mooshika's ear, his mind swirling with thoughts.

Devi: “Do not despair, my Vinayaka. True wisdom often reveals paths unseen by the swift.”

Mahadev: “Remember, my son, the world is vast, yet its essence can be found in the smallest, most profound truths.”

Vinayaka: “Profound truths… The world… What constitutes the 'world' truly?”

He looked upon his divine parents, seated serenely, their aura radiating pure, unblemished light.

A quiet realization dawned in Vinayaka's heart, luminous and clear as a mountain spring.

Vinayaka: “Ah! The world itself, in its entirety, is but a manifestation of your divine forms!”

Devi: “And what does this realization inspire within you, my wise son?”

Vinayaka: “If you, my Mother and Father, encompass all worlds, all creation, then to circumambulate you is to circumambulate the universe itself!”

A determined smile bloomed on Vinayaka's face.

Mahadev: “A profound insight, my Vinayaka. Your thoughts are indeed a marvel.”

Vinayaka: “Then the race shall commence for me, but with a different circuit, a circuit of devotion!”

Vinayaka stood up slowly, his eyes brimming with love and reverence for his parents.

He began to walk, slowly and deliberately, around his beloved Mother and Father.

Vinayaka: “You are my Mother, you are my Father, you are the entire cosmos, the past, the present, and the future.”

With each step, Vinayaka's heart filled with an overwhelming sense of devotion and gratitude.

He completed his first circumambulation, his gaze fixed upon his parents' radiant forms.

Vinayaka: “All mountains, all oceans, all stars, all beings reside within your divine embrace.”

He began his second circuit, a peaceful serenity gracing his features.

Mahadev: “He understands the true essence of worship, the depth of devotion that transcends physical boundaries.”

Devi: “Indeed, my Lord. His wisdom is as vast as the universe he encompasses with his love.”

Vinayaka completed his second round, his eyes now shining with pure understanding.

Vinayaka: “To serve you, to honor you, is to honor all creation. My world is complete in you.”

He started his third and final circuit, his steps steady and full of purpose.

Devi: “Such profound insight from our Vinayaka. He has found the shortcut of the heart.”

Mahadev: “His devotion illuminates the path to true knowledge.”

Vinayaka finished his three circumambulations, standing respectfully before his parents.

Vinayaka: “My race is complete, revered Mother and Father.”

Just moments later, a blur of golden feathers descended from the sky, landing with a flourish.

Kumara dismounted from Mayura, panting slightly, his eyes wide with triumphant exhaustion.

Kumara: “Father! Mother! I have returned! Three times around the world, swiftly as the wind!”

He then noticed Vinayaka standing calmly beside their parents.

Kumara: “Brother? You… you are already here? But how? I saw you not depart!”

Mahadev: “Kumara, my son, you have indeed traveled far and swiftly, a testament to your vigor.”

Devi: “But Vinayaka has also completed his journey, in his own unique and profound way.”

Kumara: “His journey? But he hasn't moved beyond Kailash! What trickery is this, dear Mother?”

Mahadev: “Vinayaka, explain to your brother the path you chose, and the wisdom behind it.”

Vinayaka: “Brother, my parents, Mahadev and Devi, are the source of all creation.”

Vinayaka: “All worlds, all beings, all knowledge reside within them.”

Vinayaka: “To circumambulate them, therefore, is to circumambulate the entire universe three times over, with a heart full of devotion.”

Kumara stood silent for a moment, absorbing his brother's words, a dawning comprehension in his eyes.

Kumara: “Ah… I understand now. Your wisdom far exceeds my speed, dear brother.”

Devi: “Both our sons have shown great qualities today: Kumara, your zeal and strength; Vinayaka, your devotion and wisdom.”

Mahadev: “But the Jnana Phala, the fruit of wisdom, goes to Vinayaka, who understood the true meaning of the 'world' and the 'race'.”

Mahadev presented a shimmering, golden fruit to Vinayaka, who accepted it with a humble bow.

Vinayaka: “My deepest gratitude, Mother, Father. This fruit tastes of your boundless love and wisdom.”

Kumara: “Congratulations, Vinayaka. You are truly the embodiment of sagacity.”

As twilight painted the Kailash peaks in hues of lavender and gold, a profound peace settled over the celestial abode.

Vinayaka, with the Jnana Phala resting gently in his hand, sat quietly, reflecting on the day's profound lesson.

Devi: “My sweet Vinayaka, may your wisdom always shine as brightly as the stars.”

A gentle breeze whispered through the Mandara trees, carrying the sweet scent of night-blooming flowers.

Inside his tranquil chamber, bathed in the soft glow of a celestial lamp, Vinayaka settled down.

He closed his eyes, drifting into a dreamy slumber, knowing that the greatest journey is often found within the heart, encircling the love that holds all worlds.
